Legal Assistant Career Details

Kohnen & Patton LLP is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented legal assistant to provide essential support to attorneys in preparation of legal documents, case management and various administrative tasks. 

Job responsibilities include:

  • Prepare, revise, format and finalize legal documents;
  • Electronic filing;
  • Organize and maintain legal files and records;
  • Schedule/coordinate meetings, appointments and travel arrangements;
  • Communicate with clients via telephone and email;
  • Perform general office duties, i.e., photocopying, faxing, and data entry;
  • Word processing;
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism; and
  • Assist with other administrative tasks as needed.

Ideal Candidates

Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Ability to efficiently work for multiple attorneys in a variety of practice areas;
  • Experience with court filing procedures; and
  • Minimum of three years of experience as a Legal Assistant or a similar role.
